INTRODUCTION OF BUGAMI

Bugami is a trick taking card game developed by David Parlett.  This game is comparable to Hearts in that players are trying to avoid collecting tricks that contain a specific suit.  What sets this game apart from Hearts is that the suit to avoid is different for each player.

THE CARDS & THE DEAL

Bugami uses a 52 card deck with 2’s low and Aces high.  From a second deck, each player will also need one card from each suit.  These cards will be used by the players to show which suit they will be avoiding.  These cards are placed face down in front of the player.  It will help to use cards with a different back, so they are not accidentally shuffled back into the deck.

Determine who will be the first dealer and keep score for the game.  Deal the deck out evenly one card at a time.  Any leftover cards are placed aside for the round.  They should be kept facedown and unknown.

THE PLAY

SUIT AVOIDANCE CLAIM

Before each round begins, players will claim which suit they are going to avoid capturing.  This is done simultaneously with each player flipping the suit avoidance card over at the same time.  If a player thinks they will capture zero tricks, they leave all of their suit avoidance cards face down. 토토사이트추천

BEGIN PLAY

The player left of the dealer leads the trick.  Each following player is required to follow suit if they can.  If they cannot, they can play any card.  The highest card in the same suit that was led wins the trick, and the player who captured the trick leads next.

The player who wins the final trick also wins the leftover cards from the deal if there were any.
